A REVIEW OF THE HUNGER GAMES BY WILL GRAVLIN

"The Hunger Games" is a dystopian science fiction novel by Suzanne Collins. The novel takes place in a future North America, called Panem. It's divided into the Capitol and twelve districts. Each year, as a punishment for the district's rebellion, the Capitol selects one boy and one girl, who are called "tributes," from every district to participate in the Hunger Games – an event that everyone in the districts is forced to watch, where the tributes must fight to the death until only one remains.

Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sister Prim's place as a tribute from District 12. The male tribute is Peeta Mellark, who has liked Katniss since childhood. Alongside her fellow tribute Peeta Mellark, Katniss navigates the deadly challenges of the Hunger Games arena, where she has to confront the other tributes and the political scheme of the Capitol. As the story unfolds, Katniss becomes a symbol of resistance against the oppressive Capitol, sparking a rebellion across the districts.

I really liked this book and it is one of my favorite dystopian novels I've ever read. The world created in this book is amazing and the way Collins writes makes you feel like you're part of the book. It never has a break in action and there are a ton of twists. Every time you think something is going to happen, something else changes the entire plot of the book.

Everything considered I would have to give this book a 10/10. I truly love this book and would recommend it to everyone no matter what genre they usually read.
